Palisano, Thomas Philip, aged 93 years; of Xenia OH; formerly of Mt. Morris NY, Buffalo NY, Wilson NY, and Peoria AZ; died peacefully on February 17, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Dr. Philip Palisano MD, and the late Helen (Laskowski) Palisano.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie (Serpe) Palisano, a sister, Marion (James) Biondollilo, a brother Francis (Mary) Palisano, and long-time companion Helen Ryan. He is survived by a daughter, Margaret (Jeffrey) Yarmel of Phoenixville PA; a daughter, Lisa (Michael) Glinski of Xenia OH; and a son, Thomas (Susan) Palisano of Marlborough CT. He is survived also by grandchildren Daniel (Amber) Yarmel, Gina (Matthew Clarke) Yarmel, Rachel (Michael) Reynolds, Shaina (Mason) Monds, Eli Glinski, Noah Glinski, Antonina Palisano, Carissa Palisano, and Gabriel Palisano; and by seven great-grandchildren; and by many nieces, nephews and friends.
He served with the United States Army (14th Armored Division) in the European theatre during the Second World War, and was a graduate of the University of Buffalo and Canisius College. He was employed for 30 years in the Wilson Central School District, serving as a teacher of the sciences and as an administrator. He enjoyed a long and active retirement in Arizona where he pursued his passions for golf, walking, cycling, and community service. His varied gifts as a thoughtful and conscientious educator, father, grandfather, and friend left a lasting and loving impression on colleagues, former students, friends and family.
