HELEN P. SAYER

Helen P. Sayer of Lake Road, a retired typing teacher, died Saturday (Aug. 12, 1995) in Newfane Inter-Community Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

The former Helen Pease, 92, was born in Wilson and graduated from Wilson High School.

Mrs. Sayer attended several business schools and graduated from the Bowling Green College of Commerce. She then began her teaching career in the Lockport School District, where she taught until 1944. She returned to teaching in 1959 in the Wilson Central School District, retiring in 1972.

In addition to teaching, she worked side by side with her husband on their fruit farm here. In her spare time, Mrs. Sayer was an avid reader.

She was a longtime member of the Delphic Circle, the Wilson Historical Society and the auxiliary of Inter-Community Memorial Hospital.

Her husband, Nathan B., died in 1982.

Survivors include a daughter, Jessica Dold.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Exley United Methodist Church, 338 Lake St. Burial will be private.
