Michael Winger was a friend of mine. I think it was because we were both so short. I remember him as a decent kid. He and I were both late for graduation rehersal because we were at the harbor talking about what I can not remember. We both were reprimanded by Mr Tarr and were punished by being taken out of alphabetical order at graduation the two of us were taken out of alphabetical order and put at the were put at the end of the line. My parents commented how funny we looked. At least they were not emabarrased by us.
I have no idea how MIke passed on so early (I heard it was int the 70's). I will always remember him with his bright smile.
Mike and I were friends. He lived just a block North of me. Seems like everytime I got in trouble I was with Mike. His mother used to let us drive her 59 Chevrolet from time to time. Mike even took it to the drag strip once. I heard he died in a car accident. I can't remember Mike's sister's name but I think she still lives in Wilson.
